World Cup History: ICC Cricket World Cup Winners list



  1. ICC Cricket World Cup 1975 

The first world cup is played between the West Indies and Australia and it is hosted by the nation – England. The final match venue is Lord’s London. West Indies played first and score the 291/ 8 runs in 60 over’s. Australia won 292 runs in 60 over’s to win the first title of the world cup, but the whole team will be all out of 274 runs in 58.4 over’s. West Indies won the final match by 17 runs and became the first team to win the first world cup.

  1. ICC Cricket World Cup 1979

After 4 year, long time waiting fans are excited to watch the same craze in the people. The final match is played in the same venue “Lord’s London” . Like the last world cup West, Indies come to bat first and score the 286/9 in 60 Over. This target is chased by the team who start the cricket named “England”. But, England is failed to reach this target successfully and the whole team was all out for 194 runs in 51 overs. The result was West Indies once again won the final match by 92 runs and win the 2nd world cup.

  1. ICC Cricket World Cup 1983


England is hosted all three world cup, and same venue Lord’s London is selected for the final match. The third world cup final is played between the India VS West Indies. India comes to bat first and scores only 183 runs in 54.4 overs. This is too short for two times world champion team West Indies, but the Indies players are failed to reach this target successfully, and just scored the 140 runs in 52 overs and lost the final match or a chance to make the biggest hat-trick in cricket.

The fourth world cup is hosted by India and Pakistan. The Eden Garden, Kolkata is selected as the final match venue.
